See how we turned Andy’s garage into a green screen studio for one of our annual Christmas videos.

What do you get if you mix the Appeal team, Charles Schulz’s Peanuts characters, and some sick dance moves? Go behind the scenes with our Art Director, Beau Baker, to break down our 2022 Christmas video to find out how!  

For our 11th installment of our annual Christmas video, we went full on nostalgia with a parody of A Charlie Brown Christmas. We set up a green screen in Andy’s garage and mimicked the different dances from the cartoon, the choreography was spot on! After everything was shot, we moved on to post-production.  

Beau took short clips of each of the Appeal Production “characters”, keyed out the background, dropped in a separate 4K head, keyed that and masked out the body, and finally, he created a short 1 – 2 second loop for each person.  

Next, he went into Photoshop, where he had the original animation from the movie queued up, and painted out all of the original Peanuts characters. That way, we had a clean stage to work with for all of our character loops.
